Here
I am going to walk you through on how to overcome this problem and get you
moving without any worries.
This
tutorial is made for Windows 7 but the same knowledge can be applied to do the
same thing in other versions of Windows.
What is a User Account?
A
user account holds the data of a user and also has assignment right over the
system. User accounts are of types which have different access and right by
default, although the user can decide to modify these rights if they choose to
at anytime.
Here
we will just learn how to create an account with the types Administrator and Standard. These
two types of account differ as they have different rights of access in the
system which they are created.
Users can decide to create an account choosing any of these types during the creation or modify the account at later when they decide to change the account right assignment.
Sometimes
a user might want to create an account that will have control in the computer,
which must be contacted before any changes will take effect in the system. Or
sometimes they might want to create an account which has limited priority and
access in the computer system. This account will not be able to modify any
system settings except it is granted access from the other account having all
these controls. So whichever account a user want to create depends on how they
want the account to access the system.
Create an Account Now
To
create account in Windows 7, a user can simply do this with just some few steps:
Open
the Start Menu by clicking the Start Button at the bottom left side on the Task
Bar of your computer by default or press the Windows Logo Key
on your
keyboard if it has one. This will display the start menu, at the top right of
the menu which is the right pane, click on the picture which is the current
user account’s. The system will open a window that allows you to make changes
to the current account.

Next,
click on the second to the last command at the content side of the window which
is Manage another account. The
system will prompt for access credential when the type of the current account
is not Administrator, if that is the case, please provide the system with the
password of any administrator’s account in the system. But if the current
account which want create the new user is an Administrator’s account, the
system will go straight to open a new window which displays all the accounts in
the system.
Since
you want to create a new user account, you don’t need to click on any of the
account listed in the window to proceed. Locate and click on Create a new account to proceed. The
system will open another window which let you type the account name. Just type
the name of the account you want to create in the box provided and labeled new account name.
Next
select the account type you wish to assign for the user account by selecting
the any of the radio button associated with the account type and click on Create Account. Each of the type gives
a short description below it.
The
account will be created and assigned the name which you typed in the box; the
account will be listed in the windows containing other accounts in the system.
To modify the account, click on it and it will open the account window which
let you change the password, picture,
type, name, delete the account, set parental control.
Setting a password
On
the account window, select and click on Create
a password, a window will appear to let you type the new password. Type the
new password in the first box and move to the next box to type the exact one as
in the first one. Next is the password Hint, though optional, password Hint
reminds you of your password when you forgot them. To use a password hint type
in something that will remind you the password when you lost it. Also make sure
your Hint doesn’t openly review any information about your password so any
other user can’t get access to the system and try to think the way you did.
Next
click on Create password, the account
will protected with a password which requires you to enter it anytime you want
to login into the account.
Please
note that passwords in Windows are Case
Sensitive passwords are only recognized and matched the same way they were
entered during it creation. In case sensitivity uSeR is not the same as User
or UseR. Please take note of this
when creating passwords for your accounts. Your password can contain mixture of
numbers and alphabets with underscores and other special characters.
Always
think of security when creating a password, don’t create a password that is
easy to crack by other people around you.
Set your account profile picture
On
the account window select Change the
Picture which will open up a window that contains system images/pictures.
You can actually select any of the pictures here to make the changes, but if

the picture from the location where it is and click on the Open button to set the

In
this step I am just going to show another way location where you can get to the
user account without clicking on the picture on the start menu, the processes are
the same.
